For many Kiwis rewarding travel experiences are an essential part of life. These days the internet makes it easier than ever to investigate what is out there. In theory at least. But how do you ensure that your travel experience is going to be truly memorable and how do you know you are choosing the best possible option?
Offered the chance to manage Helloworld’s new business in Tauranga in February 2017 Mannan Saiyed jumped at the chance to experiment with a new business model. “We aim to do more than sell products. We want to sell travel experiences. Helloworld aims to be a one stop shop for all travel advice, from the best flight options to the most appropriate accommodation, and even to the best restaurants and tourist sites at each destination – wherever possible from our own personal experience.”
“I am a travel enthusiast and so are all of my staff,” Mannan says. “We have all travelled extensively and amongst us we have a huge pool of personal knowledge from which to advise clients about popular travel destinations. When we don’t know about a place personally we will put our clients in touch with someone who does.”
“Making travel memorable and fuss free is what Helloworld is all about,“ Mannan adds. “We cover every detail of holiday planning and we are available 24/7 to answer queries or sort out any issues that may arise.
Setting up a travel business requires persistence, Mannan warns, especially in a world of instant access to internet-based services. “But Helloworld’s clientele has grown rapidly as people have come to appreciate our point of difference: personal knowledge, wrap around service and a commitment to offering the best possible travel experience.” He offers some wise advice to start up businesses: “Keep on rolling. Never stop. Even if the business is not doing great, just give it your best and eventually your commitment will all pay off.”
Mannan sees Tauranga as an ideal place for a travel business. “In keeping with its growing population we are seeing increased interest in personalised travel services from older people and families with young children who are looking to keep things simple and stress free. The proximity of the port and frequent visits to Tauranga from cruise ships are also promoting greater interest in cruise holidays. Helloworld is looking to develop its expertise in cruise travel even further in the future.”
If you are planning a holiday sometime soon why not give Mannan a call or drop by Helloworld at Tauranga Crossing or check out Helloworld’s Facebook page for more information.
